I learned to make food from scratch at an early age because my parents were always making everything homemade like bread, pickles, ketchup, sauerkraut, etc. But, it was France that solidified my love of cooking and led to a life in the culinary arts.
I spent time in Normandy, France being an au pair as a young woman and with my time off was able to travel and eat my way around France. I learned to appreciate artisan foods and found the grocery stores back home in Michigan lacking. I decided I had to teach myself how to make those wonderful foods I'd enjoyed in France.
I am now a chef, culinary instructor, recipe developer and food writer for magazines, newspapers and online publications.
I currently offer cooking classes and personal chef services in the Brookings, Oregon area. Contact me with questions or requests.
